We launched Outhouse as a business back in 2015. The story behind the name is a simple one really. Our house was built in 1863 and would’ve been the farm house for the workers. The building in the garden would’ve been the old wash house or “Outhouse” this is where the first “workshop” was. A tiny space of no more than 9ft square. Since then as the business has grown we progressed to a garage but nowadays we have a large 1300ft purpose built workshop which means we can now make large bespoke commissions and create off the shelf homeware items in our professional workshop.
When not in the workshop we have a real love of the outdoors, you’ll often find us trekking the fells of Lake District or visiting our two favourite places Scotland and Cornwall. We also have a huge appreciation for great food and some fantastic cocktails, you’ll see some of this in the odd instagram story. We love bringing your ideas to life and some of our most popular items like our Vanity Units and DJ furniture started out as an idea a client had that we brought to life.
