Hallway transformation

We love what we do, we love creating bespoke pieces for our clients but this one we well and truly fell in love with. We met our client Hannah at her home in Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes early last month. Hannah showed us her current hallway and told us what she wanted to achieve, hide the radiators and create storage for shoes and give it a wow factor. With a radiator on each wall, buying off the shelf furniture was just not an option. Hannah was extremely bold with her design ideas wanting to paint the walls a dark blue and asked if we could offer our usual metal work in a gold finish!

After taking some measurements and listening to Hannah’s ideas we set about mocking up a scaled 3D image of how the units may look, we sent these over and once approved we got started.

The build took a little longer than planned as we had to find a new supplier to machine our specialist components to allow light fittings to fit seamlessly with our metalwork, it’s this attention to detail that makes us a little different and we haven’t seen anyone else do this yet.

Whilst we were busy, Hannah was transforming the walls with a deep shade of blue, this was going to really work well with the warm tones of the wood along with the bold colours of the metal.

Install day arrived and after 3 hours of installation the units were installed, the lighting wired up and cleaned up ready to dress.

We we absolutely loved the final outcome of this bespoke unit, let us know what you think and drop us an email info@outhouse-byhand.com to discuss your next furniture idea.

Alcove TV Unit….

Our latest client local to us in the market town of Stony Stratford,Milton Keynes has a beautiful Victorian terrace home. They have recently transformed their living room with fresh paint, new plush carpets. Luxurious sofas and beautiful little accents of colour. The one thing they couldn’t find was a TV unit that would work in the alcove of their chimney breast. Searching online and visiting local shops they couldn’t find anything like what they wanted.

We were called over to see what we could come up with. We designed an angled TV unit built into the alcove, scribing against the skirting boards to make a snug fit. No more messy cables, the sky box was housed in the lower shelf of the cupboard with all of the wires channeled through a discreet hole in the reclaimed top.

The unit was painted in Farrow & Balls, Wevet colour to tie in with the rest of the newly painted decor. The Reclaimed top gives a real sense of warmth and is clean and practical finished in a harwax oil.

Our client was over the moon with the end result. Why not drop us a message if you’d like something made bespoke for your home. Info@outhouse-byhand.com

Thank you so much for this bespoke unit! After having searched for ages both in the shops and online we just couldn’t find anything that we liked or would fit in this alcove. Outhouse to the rescue.

Bespoke Home Bar

We loved creating our latest bespoke unit for a lovely couple who hired some light up letters from us a while back for their wedding day. After having an extension in their home they wanted a bespoke made to measure home bar style sideboard unit. They loved our style of reclaimed wood mixed with dark metal accents and wanted us to create something especially for them.

We made a home visit to discuss their needs and take measurements then sent designs back and forth until the final design was agreed on.

After the initial measurements were taken we designed on 2D software to give a more visual representation to the client. From then we rendered the design into 3D software to help visualise the scale of the build.

After the reclaimed boards have been sanded through four different grades of sandpaper we clamp the boards to for each panel. The panels are then glued and clamped together

The Unit was then clamped together and the doors offered up to check the sizing.

We then spoke with the client again to agree the style of hinges they would like to use.

After a final sanding and 2 coats of oil, the finished unit was put together in our workshop to check everything was perfect ready for installation.

The finished unit installed in the clients home ready to stock up with plenty of alcohol for fun evenings ahead. Like what you see? Drop us a message info@outhouse-byhand.com to discuss a bespoke unit for your home.

Pose Fitness

We worked with a brand new fitness studio in Weedon to create a really cool space to teach their ballet, yoga and pilates classes. The brief was a raw industrial style incorporating useable storage solutions for various equipment. We also created the Ballet Barres which are made combining solid ash wood with the industrial look of galvanised steel.

Drop us a message if you'd like us to work with you on your next project. Pop over to facebook and check out Pose Fitness for a full run down of what they offer.
